  • Virginia is proud to have 55 of the 2,930 National Board Certified library media specialists (LMSs) in the United States. The endorsement area in Library Media/Early Childhood through Young Adult first became available during the 2001-02 school year when 11 Virginia LMSs achieved certification. The numbers have steadily grown since the inception of the certification.
